Shenandoah County to Celebrate GivingTuesday on December 3, joining millions around the world

participating in the global generosity movement

On 3 December, 2019, as part of GivingTuesday, the Shenandoah County Chamber’s Nonprofit Council encourages you to be a part of #ShenCoGives and do something good for our community. #ShenCoGives is a way for you to help others through the gift of your time, donations, goods or your voice.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and their world. GivingTuesday will kick off the generosity season this year by inspiring people to give back on December 3rd, and throughout the year.

“#ShenCoGives is a way the Shenandoah County Chamber can help direct donors and promote the good work of our local nonprofits that are participating in #GivingTuesday. We hope this campaign can make more of an impactful difference together than our nonprofits already do individually,” shared Niki Wilson, Chair of the Chamber’s Nonprofit Council and Valley Health’s Foundation Director of Development.

GivingTuesday was launched in 2012 with a simple idea:  to create a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

People will demonstrate generosity in many ways through #ShenCoGives. Whether it’s helping a neighbor, a child, a teacher or an animal, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving to causes we care about, every act of generosity counts. The GivingTuesday movement has raised thousands of dollars for important causes around the County.

These organizations are taking part in GivingTuesday and we encourage you to help them to continue to make a difference in our community. Take a few minutes to visit their websites, read their personal stories of what your giving does; and give the gift of your time, donations, goods or your voice to show you care:
