New Market Area Library Summer Reading Programs 2018

Thursdays at 10 am at the library for ages birth to 5th grade

Theme “Reading Takes You Everywhere”

June 28- Reading Takes You Across Time - Sarah Kohrs, director of Corhaven Graveyard, takes you into the world of archaeology using an antebellum site as a springboard for connecting you with a look at Shenandoah County's past.

July 5- Reading Builds Your Imagination- Ken and Dorothy Scheel bring fun with creative building with Keva Planks

July 12- Reading Takes You to Rebel Park -Reading, face painting, crafts, playing ball with our New Market Rebel baseball team – held at Rebel Park Baseball Stadium in New Market, VA!

July 19- Reading Takes You Around the World- Wendy Whitford the Wanderer (along with Shane Ring) whisks you away for a world tour!  Get to know camels in the desert then fly away for a Japanese tradition.  Bring your travel bag!

July 26 - Reading Takes Us to Where Water Flows -The importance of water and how it is distributed through New Market will be presented interactively by Alex Berryman from the town, and Bill Heitchew, local plumber
