Nonprofit Council Meeting

Thursday, Jan. 14

12pm - 1pm

Virtual GoToMeeting

(Meeting link will be sent with registration confirmation email)

Topic: Coffee Talk and Vision Boards

Join us for an informal meeting, in which members will be able to catch up with each other and share news or upcoming events about their organizations. We will also discuss the idea of a Vision Board as a visual tool to help us focus on important activities for our organizations.

We encourage you to come with ideas for topics you would like to see covered in future meetings in 2021 and to volunteer to "host" a meeting (even if by Zoom), in which you can share information about your organization, give a tour, or provide expert information about some topic of interest to the Council members.

Thank you for participating in GivingTuesday in 2020! As a participant, we'd love your perspective and feedback so we can grow the movement and better serve our community in 2021. Click Here to share your thoughts.

United Way 2021 Impact Grants Update

United Way of Northern Shenandoah Valley is accepting Letters of Intent to apply for 2021 Impact Grants.   Our Board of Directors approved new financial requirements that will hopefully benefit many of the smaller agencies in Shenandoah County. The new guidelines are based on agency size and award size and no longer require an audit or financial review.   I have attached a copy of the new requirements as well as the 2021 timeline.

The deadline to submit a letter of intent is Friday, January 15, 2021.  It can be as simple as an email sent to Jennifer at jhall@unitedwaynsv.org. A letter of intent does not mean you are obligated to apply, but you are interested in learning more about the process and will be invited to attend a mandatory grant application training on January 27, 2021.

Much more information about the grant process, including a new grant application guidebook and a paper copy of the application are on our website - https://www.unitedwaynsv.org/community-impact-grants
