2024 Officers and Board of Directors

   

Chairman - Stuart Freakley, Edward Jones

Stuart is with Edward Jones and would like to use his years of retail and sales experience to help foster conversations with existing and new businesses in the County. He is passionate about the County and wants to see us continue to grow stronger and better every year. Stuart is a Leadership Shenandoah County Class of 2018 graduate. He's an active volunteer with the Chamber, County Ducks Unlimited, Lions Club, Woodstock River Bandits, Little League Coach, Special Olympics, and a Woodstock Enhancement Economic Vitality Committee Member.


Vice Chairman - Justin Wightman, Blue Ridge Bank

Justin is a Loan Officer with Blue Ridge Bank and Co-Owner of 1752 Barbecue.  Justin has been the Autumnfest Committee Chairperson since 2016 and under his leadership the festival has grown in attendees and funds raised for the Chamber's programs. Justin served on the Chamber Board previously and shared in it's visioning and growth during his term. In his spare time he enjoys cooking, concerts, and pretty much any outdoor activity.



Treasurer -Juan Velazquez, First Bank   

Juan is the AVP Banking Center Manager for First Bank. He has worked in banking for the past 15 years. Juan currently     serves the Chamber as an Ambassador. He is also part of the Hispanic Advisory Council. Within the community, he              participates in Day of Caring. He is excited to continue collaborating to bring the positive impacts of the Chamber to the community.



Secretary - Whitney Minnick, American Cancer Society

 Whitney is a Senior Development Manager for the American Cancer Society covering Shenandoah County, Rockingham County, and James Madison University.  She received a bachelor’s degree in business from Bridgewater College and completed the Master’s in Teaching program at JMU.  Whitney was involved with the ACS for many years as a volunteer before starting employment in 2017.  She lives in Harrisonburg and enjoys baking, hiking, and running.



Former Chairman - Patty Fadeley, Blue Ridge Hospice

 Patty is a Professional Relations Liaison in Shenandoah, Warren and Page Counties and has recently entered her 7th year with  Blue Ridge Hospice.  As baby boomers continue to retire in Shenandoah County, Patty strives to bring quality enhancements and necessary opportunities as Chair of the Chamber's Aging in Place Council.  She is also involved in the Non-Profit Council and Ambassador Program.  She is a 2018 Leadership Shenandoah County graduate and lives in Edinburg with her son and three dogs.


 DIRECTORS:

    

Chris Biby, United Bank

Chris has worked in Banking and finance for 10 years, the last three with United Bank. Chris currently manages the Woodstock and Strasburg Branches. He was formerly with SunTrust Bank. Chris attended Robert E Lee High School in Staunton and graduated from Liberty University in 2019. He currently serves as Treasure of the Shenandoah County 4H Livestock Show and Sale Committee, New Market 4H Club Leader and a member of Woodstock Rotary. He lives in Edinburg with his wife Heather, and two children.


    

 Jaynelle Bowers, City National Bank 

 Jaynelle is the Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager of City National Bank, where she has been employed for the last     26 years. She currently serves the Chamber as the Valor Awards Chair, Mayfest Committee Member, and Secretary of th         Strasburg Business Alliance. Within the community, she volunteers for Night to Shine. From 2017-2022, she served as            Secretary on the Chamber Board of Directors. She also was a community partner for Strasburg Fire Department in 2022.      



Bryan Byrd, Shentel 

Bryan currently works as a Government and Community Affairs Specialist for Shentel. He received an MA in Economics from George Mason University and is finishing up an MA in Christian Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. Bryan looks to leverage his years of experience as an interface between the private and public sector to help foster the continued flourishing of the County's business community.



Cristi Coryell, The ButterCup

Cristi is the owner of The ButterCup in  Woodstock.  She is a graduate of Shenandoah Valley Academy, in New Market.  She attended Pacific Union college where she received her B.S. in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in elementary education.  After 10 years in the classroom she fell in love with the Napa Valley.  Cristi became a wine educator and tasting room sales associate for a small family owned winery.  Upon returning to the valley she fulfilled a lifetime goal when she opened The ButterCup in New Market in 2020 and the Woodstock Store in '21.  Cristi is a member of our Retail Task Force and Woodstock Lead Share Group.


        

David Ferguson, Shenandoah Community Foundation

 David has served this County for many years as a Board of Supervisor for 12 years, a Board member of the Woodstock Chamber, Director and Fundraising Chairman of the County's Free Health Clinic, and currently serves on the Board of the Shenandoah Community Foundation. David would like to bring his community participation and contributions from serving on local and state boards to the Chamber Board. He looks forward to positioning Shenandoah County for the future. David was the Vice President of Customer Service at Shentel before he retired after 43 years with the company.


  

Chris Hepner, Bowman Andros Products

Chris is the Director of Private Label Sales and Supply Chain at Bowman Andros Products in Mt. Jackson, VA and also serves on the executive leadership team. In his sales director role, he is responsible for the global strategy and direction of Private Label sales for both products that are manufactured locally in Mount Jackson, as well as, imported products from their sister facilities in France and Italy.  His experience in strategic planning and passion for continuous community enhancement, alongside his background of being raised in a small business in Shenandoah County, is beneficial to the current Chamber board. Born and raised in Shenandoah County, a graduate of Central High School, Laurel Ridge Community College, and                                                       James Madison University, he currently resides in Woodstock with his wife and two children.


 Crystal Hollar, Edward Jones 

Crystal is a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones in Strasburg.  She earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.  Crystal is active with the Chamber as an Ambassador and a member of the Lead Share Group. She is also a graduate of the 2020 Leadership Shenandoah County Class.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, baking, running 5ks, swimming, biking and competing in triathlons.  Crystal lives in Edinburg with her husband John and their three sons.


        

 Allon Lefever, Hampton Inn & Suites

Allon is the President and owner of the Hampton Inn & Suites in Woodstock and other business ventures. He's been a senior executive in the Agriculture, Manufacturing and Internet industries. Allon recently published Launching The Entrepreneur Ship and serves on bank, insurance, and technology Boards. He looks forward to contributing innovative ideas on membership and revenue streams for the Chamber.


 

Jessica Neff,  First Bank

Jessica has been active with the Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce since 2015.  She has 20 + years of banking experience, currently as Consumer Services Manager of First Bank, overseeing 11 of the bank's branches.  Jessica graduated from Strasburg High School, and attended Laurel Ridge Community College, with degrees in Business Administration and Management.  She has participated in many programs offered by the Chamber, including being a member of the first graduating class of Leadership Shenandoah County and being a part of the Ambassador Program.  



 Amy Proctor, Clark & Bradshaw, PC 

Amy is Office Manager and Paralegal for Clark & Bradshaw, P.C.'s Woodstock Office.  She worked in tourism and in the non-profit sector for over 25 years before switching to the legal field.  Amy recently received her Virginia Certified Title Examiner (VCTE) Certificate from Virginia Land Title Association.  She is on the Board of Directors of the Forestville-Quicksburg Ruritans Club and is a member of Shenandoah Valley Paralegal Association, the Hands of Harmony Handbell Choir and Shenandoah Singers Choir Group.  Amy and her husband Joe live in New Market.  She enjoys swimming, reading, camping, music and family time.



Wayne Sager, Strasburg Police Dept.

Wayne is the Chief of Police for the Town of Strasburg Police Department. He currently serves as Ambassador for the Chamber. Wayne is a strong community advocate, as he serves on several boards and committees: Woodstock/Edinburg Little League, Family Youth Initiative, Community Resources for Education & Wellness (CREW), Shenandoah County Ducks Unlimited, and Rotary. If selected, he would support local business through advocation, attend and help with Chamber events.



 Kelly Good Singleton, George's Inc.

Kelly is a Shenandoah County native who is happy to be back home after more than a decade away.  She is a 1989 graduate of James Madison University and is currently the Plant Human Resources Manager at George's Inc.  in Edinburg, where she and her team manage all things relating to the employee life cycle.  She believes that serving on the Chamber Board will align well with her core values "Do the right thing, take care of my people, and give back to the community" and she looks forward to helping grow the organization.  In her spare time, she enjoys  fishing, traveling to warm destinations, and listening to live music.  


 Angie Vann, The Bookkeeping Company/Angie Renee Photography

 Angie is the owner of two local businesses,  The Bookkeeping Company and Angie Renee Photography.  Within the community, she is a non-profit board member for Wakemans Grove Church of the Brethren, Theatre Shenandoah, Shenandoah County Pregnancy Center and the Virginia Association of Professional Soil Scientists. 


 



Abby Walters, Preslee Real Estate 

 Abby is the owner and broker of Preslee Real Estate. She has been a Realtor since 2005. She currently serves the Chamber by volunteering as a chairperson of the Mayfest Committee and Vice Chair of the Strasburg Business Alliance. Within the community, Abby is a member of the Strasburg Rotary Club.



STAFF

   

President/CEO, Sharon Baroncelli 

Sharon started as the Chamber's Executive Director in January 2017 and was promoted to President/CEO in July of 2019. Working with the Board she has increased the Chamber's membership to over 500 members, introduced new Councils and programming for the membership, and strengthened partnerships with the community, County and Town governments, and elected officials.




 Administrative Assistant, Debbie Lambert

Debbie retired from Valley Behavioral Health at SMH in 2017 and began with the Chamber in July of 2019.   She loves working with the Non-Profits and Business Community.




     Events Coordinator, Jessica Bowers

     Jessica is a Shenandoah County native with deep roots in the Valley. A 2005 Graduate of Central High School, she 

     resides in Woodstock with her husband and two daughters. She began her career in Real Estate in 2021 and fell in   

     love with sharing this beautiful Valley with others. This led to a desire to get more involved in the community and

     active with area nonprofits. She looks forward to helping with Chamber events and working with our members.

Purpose and Objectives

The Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce is organized to achieve the following objectives:

·       To advance the commercial, industrial, and civic growth and welfare of Shenandoah County.

·       To aid in the advancement and conservation of the business, professional, and educational interests of the County of Shenandoah,

and Commonwealth of Virginia

·       To foster and encourage the agricultural development of Shenandoah County

·       To enhance tourism prospects in Shenandoah County

·       To advance retail opportunities in Shenandoah County

·       To advocate for the business interests of our members

·       To collect and provide statistical information and data in reference to the commerce, trade, business, capital, industry,

and growth of Shenandoah County

·       To aid, assist and cooperate in securing and establishing industries and business enterprises within Shenandoah County
